Hephaestus Books represents a new publishing paradigm, allowing disparate content sources to be curated into cohesive, relevant, and informative books. To date, this content has been curated from Wikipedia articles and images under Creative Commons licensing, although as Hephaestus Books continues to increase in scope and dimension, more licensed and public domain content is being added. We believe books such as this represent a new and exciting lexicon in the sharing of human knowledge. This particular book is a collaboration focused on Lemurs.

More info: Lemurs are a clade of strepsirrhine primates endemic to the island of Madagascar. They are named after the lemures (ghosts or spirits) of Roman mythology due to the ghostly vocalizations, reflective eyes, and the nocturnal habits of some species. Although lemurs often are confused with ancestral primates, the anthropoid primates (monkeys, apes, and humans) did not evolve from them; instead, lemurs merely share morphological and behavioral traits with basal primates. Lemurs arrived in Madagascar around 62 to 65 mya by rafting on mats of vegetation at a time when ocean currents favored oceanic dispersal to the island. Since that time, lemurs have evolved to cope with an extremely seasonal environment and their adaptations give them a level of diversity that rivals that of all other primate groups. Until shortly after humans arrived on the island around 2,000 years ago, there were lemurs as large as a male gorilla. Today, there are nearly 100 species of lemurs, and most of those species were discovered or promoted to full species status since the 1990s; however, lemur taxonomic classification is controversial and depends on which species concept is used. Even the higher-level taxonomy is disputed, with some experts preferring to place most lemurs within the infraorder Lemuriformes, while others prefer Lemuriformes to contain all living strepsirrhines, placing all lemurs in superfamily Lemuroidea and all lorises and galagos in superfamily Lorisoidea.

MACHEEZMO MOUSE RESTAURANTS, INC.: Labor Productivity Benchmarks and International Gap Analysis (Labor Productivity Series)

This book is designed for human resources managers and directors of personnel who are concerned with labor productivity. It gives benchmarks and gap analyses used to gauge a company’s performance vis-a-vis firms competing firms in the same sector, at the global level. In particular, this report covers MACHEEZMO MOUSE RESTAURANTS, INC., PORTLAND, USA. With the globalization of markets, greater foreign competition, and the reduction of entry barriers, it becomes all the more important to benchmark a company’s performance against other firms on a worldwide basis. Doing so, however, is not an obvious task. First, one needs to find firms competing in the same sector. Second, one needs to control for exchange rate volatility. Finally, one needs to use comparable financial standards. This report overcomes these issues and gives full human resources benchmarks vis-a-vis worldwide competitors who are present in the same narrow industrial classification. Benchmarks cover labor-asset ratios, labor-liability ratios, and labor-income ratios. Since our reports are printed on demand, the statistics reported are for the latest quarter and are the most up to date available (4 updates are produced each year). Each report provides over 100 statistics and 40 graphs to the reader.

Tales Of A Country Mouse

Tales Of A Country Mouse
CHAPTER I THE ARRIVAL URROUNDED by a large garden, the Colonels house lay outside the town. The town was small, and was made up of wooden houses of varying sizes, also with laige gardens, many of them reaching. down to the lake. The lake-was very shallow at the edge, so a long pier stretched out to the large bathing-house which all the bathers used in common and through the middle of this house ran a high fence which went bevond it into the water. On one side of this fence the ladies bathed on the other, the gentlemen. The Colonels house was called Baldersage. It was old and yellow, with two ,storeys, and a staircase leadings from the garden. h entrance d door, between two round white pillars, led from the courtyard in front. The Colonel was standing before his door he was thin, with straight shoulders, an upright back, white hair and moustache, no beard, kind eyes, and a very wrinkled face. He had a rug over his arm, and held a little girl by the hand. She was pale and had blue eyes, and golden silky hair flowing loose over a white embroidered dress, and she stood on two thin, brown legs. Soon a carriage with the Colonels tall brown horse came from the stable on the box was Robert, the coachman, young and fat and jolly, and very red in the face. Are you sure we are not too late, Grand- father lisped the little fair – haired girl. Country Mouse is always so quick, you know. Grandfather smiled. Do not worry, little Town Mouse. Its quite true that Greta moves quicker than most, but she cannot hurry the railway train. And so they drove off, out of the courtyard and then through an avenue of birches which led into the town. Grandfather had invited his two grand- daughters to stay with him for the summer holidays, so that they might become friends, and in the hope, perhaps, that they might have an influence on each other. They were almost the same age, and both were named Greta, after L their Grandmother. And this is why Grand- father called them Town Mouse and Country Mouse. Town Mouse was an only child, spoilt, and overdressed, and delicate. Grandfather had had to go and fetch her at Christiania, for she could not travel so far alone. Country Mouse was mischievous, small, and sturdy, and brown as a nut. She went about in simple stuff dresses and boys shoes that her brotheis had grown out of. She was travelling alone from the Vicarage in which she lived UD in the mountains. She was accustomed to lookihg after both herself and her two younger brothers. Perhaps youll get some training at the Colonels, said old Mary, who had looked after the Vicarage since the Vicars wife died, for you just do as you like here. Your cousin Greta is a well-brought-up child, remember. And Country Mouse remembered, and became very nervous ahd suspicious about her cousin. There, Grandfather The train had puffed into the station, and Town Mouses finger,-white and soft as a thin asparagus stalk, pornted to a little square-shouldered person that skipped out before the train had quite stopped. Here I am, Grandfather Country Mouse looked up with bright, shining eyes, sure of a warm and affectionate greeting.Hullo, girlie. Welcome said Grandfather…

This 2 3/8 diameter by 2 3/8 high ice cake pastry ring can be used for a wide variety of purposes and can create an immense array of dishes. Tart rings are most commonly used for baking tarts as the majority of the dough is exposed to the heat of the oven and quickly becomes crispy. Flan rings are used by placing the filling in the ring (usually a custard-type filling) on a baking sheet and baked. Mousse rings or cake rings are used to layer ingredients, to create multi-layer cakes, such as genoise or sponge cakes, and even to create vegetable dishes.
